For Generations, embroidery thread has been used to create beautiful images through needlework. From delicate flowers to Charming houses and landscapes, artists have transformed ordinary fabric into "extraordinary works of art."
I have always appreciated the patience, precision, and Imagination behind this tradition.
But I began to see embroidery thread differently.
What if thread could become more than stitches?
Through threaddora, I explore embroidery thread as a sculptural material, shaping it directly onto wood to create Dimension, movement, and texture.
Consider two windows surrounded by flowers. Both artists begin with thread. Both create a scene that invites the viewer to look closer. Yet the message of construction are different.
"One artist builds an image through stitches in fabric. I build mine by hand- sculpting thread into the artwork itself."
Neither approach diminishes the other. They demonstrate how a familiar material can offer different artistic possibilities.
For me, embroidery thread is not simply something to stitch with. It is a material through which I can interpret memories, places, and the world around me.
And sometimes the most interesting discoveries begin when we look at something familiar and imagine what else it could become.
